Pricing and Edition Numbers
Pricing - The prices for Mather Fine Art's exclusive limited edition prints are established each January and will not be reassessed until the following year.
Edition Numbers - Edition sizes are limited to 25, 50, or 100 prints. This figure represents the total number of prints produced across all available sizes. For instance, if you purchase a limited edition print with an edition size of 25, you will own one of the 25 total prints available. We do not produce any additional prints, including Artist proofs.
Digital Signature - Each print includes Walter's digital signature, which is a scanned version of his signature incorporated during the printing process, along with the copyright date in the bottom left corner. Collectors often wonder why his signature is positioned on the left rather than the right. The explanation is that Walter is left-handed, making it more convenient for him to sign in that location.
The Final Print of an Edition - The last limited edition print of each series is sold through an auction format. I select the finish and size that best complements the image. The starting bid is set at the original selling price. For instance, once 99 prints from an edition of 100 have been sold, the final print, numbered 100 of 100, is auctioned off with the starting bid reflecting the standard price for that print. The auction lasts for one week, with the highest bidder securing the image. If the print remains unsold at the end of the auction, it will be re-listed on www.matherfine.com at its original price.
